What is Secret Santa?
Secret Santa is a gift exchange where each person in a group is randomly assigned someone to buy a gift for. Only the giver knows who they drew, so the gift is a surprise.
How do I draw names online?
Enter each participant’s name and email in the form on this page and press “Draw names & send emails”. We draw the names and email everyone their match individually.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is completely free and no account or sign-up is required.
Can someone draw themselves?
No. The algorithm links everyone in a single chain (A → B → C → … → A), so nobody draws themselves and, with 3 or more people, no two people draw each other.
How do I stop couples from drawing each other?
Put them in the same group. People in the same group are never matched. The only rule: a group can’t contain more than half of all participants.
Can the organizer see who got whom?
No. Results are never displayed on screen. Each person only sees their own match, so the organizer can play too.
Someone didn’t get their email. What now?
Ask them to check their spam/junk folder first. Work email may delay external messages by a few minutes. If an address was mistyped we will tell you; fix it and run the draw again for everyone.
How many people can join?
Each draw can have between 2 and 60 participants.
